Information concerning the College’s compliance with the Equality Duty

Farnborough College of Technology aims to meet fully the requirements of the equality duty for public bodies. Issues of equality and diversity continue to be given a significant degree of prominence throughout the range of the college’s activities. The aims and values of the college are made explicit in the Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Policy, which clearly sets out the college’s determination to eliminate all unlawful forms of discrimination, to advance equality of opportunity and to foster good relations between people who share a protected characteristic and those who do not.

The college carefully monitors both information relating to employees who share protected characteristics and also information relating to students sharing protected characteristics, who are the key users of college services.

In accordance with the requirements of the Equality Act 2010, the college has developed a number of equality objectives which set out the areas we will be working to improve further. The college’s equality objectives are set out as the key actions developed in the Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Policy.
