The Schools Liaison team at Farnborough College of Technology is dedicated to working in partnership with schools to raise awareness of further education and to help young people make informed decisions about their future. We offer a variety of activities, presentations and workshops, both at the College and in schools, to enable your students to discover the range of opportunities available to them when they leave school.

Activities in Schools
An Introduction to Farnborough College of Technology
We can provide a short presentation, suitable for both assemblies and separate classes, which give an overview of the College facilities and courses available.
A more in-depth workshop session would include further information about courses, entry requirements, Apprenticeships, and student life at the College. Pupils would also have the opportunity to have all their questions answered and receive advice on the application and interview process.
All presentations and workshops can be tailored to suit the needs of the school.
Staff are always happy to visit your school to talk about their specialist subject area, and provide information about course content, entry requirements, progression routes, career opportunities and enrichment activities.
Parents’ Evenings, Options Evenings and Careers events
A member of the Schools Liaison team is always available to attend these events to offer information and guidance to students and parents regarding post-16 options.
Mock Interviews and Enterprise days
If you are holding mock interviews for Year 10 or 11 students we can provide a staff member to act as an interviewer or be part of an interview panel. We would also be happy to come to support summer term events such as Enterprise or Industry days.
Activities at Farnborough College of Technology
College Open Evenings
Our Open Evenings are an excellent opportunity to come and explore the College, view the facilities and talk to tutors about the extensive range of courses on offer. College Ambassadors will also be on hand to talk about their own College experience.
The next Open Evening for School Leavers will take place on the following date:
Wednesday 7th December, 2011, 4.00pm-7.30pm
Subject specific taster sessions give your students the opportunity to get a taste of a subject they are interested in, and provide an exciting insight into College life and the facilities available to support their learning.
We can provide taster sessions throughout the academic year to groups of up to 25 students.
College tours
Groups of students and teachers are very welcome to come to the College to experience a guided tour of our campus. This is a great opportunity to view the facilities available to support our students’ learning.
