The Regional Resource Centre (RRC) for Advanced Manufacturing in Aerospace and Space is a partnership of a number of leading commercial and academic organisations co-funded by the South East England Development Agency (SEEDA) and European Social Fund (ESF). Farnborough College of Technology is proud to take the lead managing the project, utilising its position in the heart of the UK’s Aerospace capital as well as its close links to other academic institutions, to provide world class Aeronautical Engineering training resources.
What does it do?
The Regional Resource Centre acts as a hub of industrial training schemes with the ability to source, and in many cases fund, training for employees with a view to furthering their professional development. Through the process of “Upskilling” the current workforce, the RRC aims to stimulate the growth and development of Aerospace firms in the South East Region, ensuring a prosperous future for the industry and helping maintain the South East England as a world leader in Aerospace technology.
What can it do for my company?
The Regional Resource Centre takes great pride in the region’s history of outstanding Aeronautical developments and aims to support and enhance the regions future dominance in this area. There are a number of ways the centre can help businesses of all sizes including:
- Identifying skills gaps within companies and providing Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) on how to fill these gaps
- Providing funding to enable companies to further the professional development of their employees
- Liaising with local commercial and academic institutions and recommending suitable long and short courses and training
- Building, funding and implementing bespoke training schemes for Aerospace and Space related companies

As a partnership of influential institutions including partners such as; Farnborough Aerospace Consortium, BAE Systems, TAG Aviation, Flight Safety International, QinetiQ, EADS Astrium, Farnborough College of Technology, Northbrook College University of Surrey, and Highbury College amongst others, the RRC is positioned to help you meet the higher skills needs in your workplace
