Apprenticeship Awards Ceremony

09 November 2006

Farnborough College of Technology’s continued success in delivering Apprenticeship programmes was highlighted this month when the first Apprenticeship Awards Ceremony was held.

150 guests, including Peter Holland of Hampshire and Isle Of Wight Learning & Skills Council, attended a drinks reception followed by the presentation of
awards to over 50 Apprentices. In addition, Apprentice of the Year awards went to Nathan Niland for Motor Vehicle Repair, Helen Rodgers for Hairdressing and Ashley McWilliams for Electrical Installation.

The number of young people entering an Apprenticeship programme with Training Enterprise, the College’s managing agency, has almost doubled over the past 2 years with high numbers successfully completing their awards.
The opening of Aldershot College has led to the introduction of Apprenticeships in Construction, whilst providing top class facilities for students and close links with local industry.

Training Enterprise Manager, Debra Kehoe said: ‘We are delighted by the continued success of our Apprenticeship programmes and the achievements of all those young people who have completed their awards. We continue to work closely with employers, who play such a vital role in supporting those achievements’.
