At the end of November, QinetiQ played host to a group of students from Farnborough College of Technology currently studying Composite Material Technology as part of their Degree program. QinetiQ and FCoT, both partners of the Regional Resource Centre Steering committee, agreed that this would be of great benefit for the students and QinetiQ generously opened their state of the art facilities to students in order to let them see how the theory they have learnt is applied to the workplace.
Farnborough College Composites tutor, Charlotte Jones was delighted with the opportunity it offered students:
“With the pace of Composite Technology developments moving so fast and becoming integral to almost all new aircraft, we welcomed the generosity of QinetiQ for this unique opportunity to see industrial applications for the subject. We know it will have benefit for this region’s future engineers to have such great industrial exposure within their teaching programs. We plan to extend our curriculum accordingly and are thankful for local industrial input”.
If you think your company might be able to offer local students such an opportunity, please contact the Regional Resource Centre to help you with the arrangements.
