Bus Journeys Aid Student Development

26 September 2008

Students from Farnborough College of Technology will be able to enjoy free bus travel as they learn how to gain confidence and independence through the local Stagecoach bus service.

The students who come form all over the area are currently studying with the College on various Foundation and Entry Level programmes.  Many students for various reasons do not have the opportunity to travel around locally on public transport but as part of their course they will be encouraged to use the buses.  The National Transport Bus tokens which have been kindly donated by Stagecoach means they can travel for free, therefore making this aspect of the course much more viable as they are able to take more journeys.

Jim Mortimore Operations Manager for Stagecoach said they were delighted to be able to offer the tokens so that these young people can practice travelling by bus.  We are committed to Community projects and we certainly felt this is a worthwhile venture.
