Students, staff and members of the public enjoyed Coffee and cake courtesy of Farnborough College of Technology Gallery restaurant. The worlds biggest coffee morning promoted in aid of the Macmillan Cancer support charity came at an appropriate time as the restaurant had just taken delivery of a state of the art industry coffee machine.
John Clarkson senior programme manager said ‘This event has been a wonderful opportunity to practice with the new coffee machine. In the ever popular coffee shop culture our students will now be able to add trained Barista to their qualifications’
Visitors were treated to excellent coffee and cakes made by the students, Heather Ramsdale the head of school for the Catering section said ‘how fantastic to see so many people enjoy this new facility, and we have also used the opportunity to raise more money by selling bouquets of flowers created by students on the new Floristry diploma’
The College refectory also joined in and students from the department of Education and Humanities set up a cake stall to entice passers by and the students raised £146.
Helen Kell who organised the Gallery Restaurant event confirmed that the College had raised a fantastic overall amount of £580 for such a worthy cause.
