Steph – Floristry

Steph

Former Level 2 Floristry student – Now owner of Steph Lovell Flowers

At Farnborough I learned the basics and found my love of flowers. I worked in a few florist shops to gain experience and I always wanted to have my own business but never found the right time. My friend sent me an advert to take part in the Big Flower Fight on Netflix, and I applied thinking I wouldn’t get on, but then I was invited for auditions and was given a place on the show. We loved every second of doing the show and after taking part I felt like it was the right time to open my own business.

Starting my own business has been really rewarding and fun. I run it from my own home I have a workshop in my garden. My advice to future floristry students is to follow your own instincts – you need to learn the basics of floristry but you should follow your own unique style. I’d definitely recommend the course to learn the basics of floristry because it can take you on to do whatever you want to do.
