This course is ideal for School Leavers who want to pursue a career in the performing arts, or other areas of work where performance skills are useful. It is equivalent to three A Levels and provides a route into university or higher education.
This qualification aims to develop your skills and understanding of acting, dance and performance by learning in a practical environment with industry professionals. You will perform frequently in our on-site theatre and rehearse in our dance studio, surrounded by music, creative arts and media students and staff.
At level 3 you will be required to become a self-managed learner building on skills you have developed at previous levels either at college or in school. The expectation at level 3 is that you are mature, professional, reflective and motivated. You should be able to seek appropriate support where required and complete work independently. Level 3 courses will provide opportunities for higher level practical skills but also an understanding of the historical context of the performing arts.
You will undertake a broad range of skills based and theory-based units which may include: Performing Arts Skills Development, The Performing Arts Industry, Personal Performing Arts Profile and a Collaborative Performing Arts Project.
We believe that it is important to support you so that you can pursue a future in the performing arts, so the course will include helping you to improve and develop your communication skills with additional GCSE English and Maths where appropriate if you have progressed from a lower level vocational course. If you are coming directly from school, you must have GCSE English language at grade C. You will receive group and individual tutorial support to keep you on track and if needed additional learning support is available.

You will be trained in all three disciplines of Acting Skills, Dance Skills and Musical Theatre Skills, through practical workshops and lectures.
