Overview

About the course

Farnborough College of Technology is blazing a trail for ambitious students through this prestigious new qualification. Designed with great input from employers, the content is up-to-date, relevant, engaging, and can lead straight into a career.

Studying a T Level programme in healthcare science will give you all the essential skills needed for a career in the sector. You'll explore core scientific concepts including the structure of cells, tissues and large molecules, to understanding the principles of person-centred care. Equivalent to three A Levels, this course provides a route into employment or into higher education.

Focused Specialisms:

During your Healthcare T Level you will have the option to specialise in one of the following areas, giving you a greater depth of knowledge, experience and understanding of either:

Pharmacy Services: This specialism will teach you the roles and responsibilities that offer pharmaceutical care and advice. You'll learn how to gather information to support the provision of care and advice, through questioning, listening and observing patients.

Assisting with Healthcare Science: This specialism will teach you how to provide the best patient care when supporting the physiological, physical and clinical engineering services. This is so you can produce reliable data and images for use by health care professionals in diagnosis and treatment. You'll learn how to recognise the need to refer and make referrals of patients to another member of the healthcare team. You could work in a laboratory or work directly with patients every day.
