CIPD membership gives you a badge of professionalism that is internationally recognised. It showcases your knowledge and impact within the people profession. Once you are registered for a qualification, you will join the CIPD as a Student Member; the first step in your CIPD membership journey.
The CIPD will support and encourage you throughout your studies and help you grow in confidence and deliver more impact. You will gain access to extensive resources, such as expert research, journals, factsheets, helplines and online communities, helping you to build your network. When you complete your qualification, you will be awarded CIPD Associate Membership, and the designation “Assoc CIPD” after your name. This establishes your credibility as a professional, raises your profile and can open doors to job opportunities or promotions.
Students will be responsible for their own membership joining fees payable directly to the CIPD within three weeks of the course starting.
Please note that while we make reasonable adjustments to remove any barriers to education, additional fees may be payable where this is not possible. For example, to provide additional support due to a disability. Please contact us if you believe you have any additional needs so that we can discuss your options before enrolling on a course.

Students must achieve an 80% minimum attendance requirement and commit to self-directed study, equivalent to the time spent in college, when preparing for class/group work, academic research and assignments. You will also be required to attend pre-arranged individual tutorials. The 33 weeks are not consecutive and college holidays are taken as indicated on the college website.
We hope that our classes will be face-to face teaching where possible. However, please note that due to the Coronavirus pandemic situation, as is the case in many colleges and universities, there may be the need at some point for classes to be taught on-line. You will, therefore, need technology that can support the use of Microsoft Teams.
New Online Live option. We are also offering a new Online Live option, whereby students can attend the course remotely via Microsoft Teams, with compulsory face to face attendance for some sessions. The same attendance rules of 80% apply.
Continuous assessment is used throughout the course by a variety of written assignments, skills activities and workplace evidence.
After successfully completing this qualification, you will be welcome to progress to the CIPD Level 7 Advanced Diploma in Strategic People Management.
This course is aimed at students who have completed a level 3 course: that is either a CIPD Level 3 course, A Levels, National Diploma or equivalent. Ideally, you should also have some experience working in people management or a role that has some people management content, such as a line manager or senior administrative role. This course may also be suitable for those with a degree in a non-related subject, who would like to enter the people management profession, and have some work experience within other professions.
Please note that a partial adult learner loan is available for this course of £724. An interview with a member of the teaching team is required, prior to, or at enrolment and this will be completed at one of the open evening events run by the college or remotely via a Teams call.
