About the course

To kickstart a revolution in greener living, the Green Homes Grant will help up to 600,000 British homeowners and landlords create more energy-efficient homes. Farnborough College of Technology (Aldershot Campus) are delivering a number of accredited training to the low carbon installation sector to support the industry to install energy efficient measures. In the main, these qualifications are designed to upskill existing Plumbers or Electricians. 

Who is this programme for?

This regulated qualification is for those wishing to achieve a nationally recognised qualification in the installation and maintenance of small scale grid tied Photovoltaic systems. This qualification is based upon the National Occupational Standards as published by industry and is recognised by the Microgeneration Certification Scheme registration bodies as an acceptable qualification to join the scheme.

How will I be assessed?

Assessment is carried via practical observed assignment, written assignment and multiple-choice examination. The assessments are open book and use the applicable standards and regulations.

What previous qualifications and experience will I need?

It is a requirement that any learner wishing to undertake this qualification should hold a Level 3 Electrotechnical NVQ qualification or similar
