This course is avalible until the end of February, but must be completed by 30 June. This course is due to restart on the 1 August 2020.
This qualification is designed to increase learners’ awareness and understanding of different childhood illnesses, how they are spread, managed and how to deal with accidents. By completing the qualification, learners will develop in-depth knowledge of common childhood illnesses which could support progression onto other appropriate qualifications and into relevant employment in the health and social care sector.

Delivery and Duration
You will be provided with the learning materials either online and/or hardcopies and you will have the support of a knowledgeable assessor/tutor who will give you guidance and feedback on the course as you complete it. This course takes between 2 to 6 months to complete.
To be awarded the Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Common Childhood Illnesses, learners are required to successfully complete 3 mandatory units.
Learners who achieve this qualification could progress to:
The Level 2 Diploma in Care, the Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care, the Level 2 qualifications in Understanding Nutrition and Health and Understanding the Care and Management of Diabetes.
What previous qualifications and experience will I need?
There are no specific prior qualifications needed to access this qualification. However, learners might find it useful if they have already completed a Level 1 qualification. You will be invited in to complete an induction and inital assessment.
Due to government funding these courses are available free of charge; subject to the learners meeting the set eligibility. You must have lived in the UK/EU for the past 3 years and be over 19 years old. There may be a fee should you withdraw from the course.
