About the course
This course is for school leavers who would like to expand upon their existing knowledge of electrical installation and the construction industry. Upon completion candidates will be awarded the City & Guilds Diploma in Electrical Installations (Building And Structures) Level 2.
Costs
Students must purchase protective workwear and safety footwear in order to comply with health & safety requirements. Financial assistance may be available to help with the cost. Please refer to the "Support & Guidance" section of this website for further information.

Your course
How will I be taught?
Candidates will be taught using a mixture of theory and practical lessons. All practical lessons will take place in our purpose-built workshops under the instruction of staff with extensive industry experience.
What modules are covered?
The qualification comprises of the following units:Health and safety building services engineering
- Principles of electrical science
- Electrical installations technology
- Installation of wiring systems and enclosures
- Understand how to communicate with others within building services engineering
- Work experience (two weeks)

Entry Requirements
What previous qualifications and experience will I need?
From school:
- Four GCSEs at grades 9-4 (including English and maths)
From college:
- Relevant level 1 qualification (or equivalent) including English and maths
