Attendance for this course is one day per week, so you can fit study alongside a job or family commitments.
This programme has been designed so that students control their pace of learning. Students will be expected to do assignments/tasks, oral questions and on-line end of module tests to support each area of learning. This will be proof that students have mastered a particular aspect of the trade. Practical skills will be developed along with individual/group work, research and case studies. A high level of attendance is essential in order to succeed. Students will be required to do work placement during the course.
You will learn in our fully-equipped commercial hair and beauty salons at The Hair and Beauty Academy. The salons feature a wide range of industry-standard equipment and products allowing you to learn in a state-of-the-art, professional working environment.
The salons are open to the public and you will provide a range of hair, beauty and holistic treatments to paying clients, so you can enhance your customer service and communication skills while gaining practical, hands-on experience.

After working for a few years in pubs and restaurants I decided to come back and study. I’ve always liked beauty and wanted to have a career, not just a job.
As mature students there’s a lot of respect between the teachers and the students. I like that the course is only one day a week but it’s not rushed. I can do it at my own pace and step back if I feel overwhelmed. Because it’s an intensive course I was worried I’d be cramming the information in but it’s not like that – you can catch up really easily.
The course is flexible and I can still work around it and earn money. I have a good work/life balance.
