Overview
About the course
Attendance for this course is one day per week, so you can fit study alongside a job or family commitments.
This programme has been designed so that students control their pace of learning. Students will be expected to do assignments/tasks, oral questions and on-line end of module tests to support each area of learning. This will be proof that students have mastered a particular aspect of the trade. Practical skills will be developed along with individual/group work, research and case studies. A high level of attendance is essential in order to succeed. Students will be required to do work placement during the course.
You will learn in our fully-equipped commercial hair and beauty salons at The Hair and Beauty Academy. The salons feature a wide range of industry-standard equipment and products allowing you to learn in a state-of-the-art, professional working environment.
The salons are open to the public and you will provide a range of hair, beauty and holistic treatments to paying clients, so you can enhance your customer service and communication skills while gaining practical, hands-on experience.
Who is this programme for?
Mature students over the age of 19.

How will I be taught?

How will I be assessed?
Assessments in all units are undertaken in College, a mixture of theory and practical work. Assessments vary from assignments, tasks, oral questions and written papers.
What training will be provided?
All modules are delivered in the beauty salon at college on paying clients.
Additional external training courses available in term 3.

What Next?
Level 3 in Beauty Therapy or employment within the Beauty Therapy industry.
Entry Requirements
What previous qualifications and experience will I need?
You'll need a minimum or four GCSEs at Grade A*-D or 9-3 and above, including English or Maths. If you're already at college, you'll need a relevant level 1 qualification, and a level 1 qualification (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
