This work-based learning qualification enables you to work as a specialist bricklayer in the construction industry. As a specialist bricklayer, you will produce and maintain complex masonry structures, such as chimney stacks, tunnel linings and decorative stonework. You will also learn how to work safely in a supervisory capacity as part of a team building and refurbishing homes or non-domestic properties. This qualification is widely supported in the construction sector.

This Level 3 qualification is ideal if you've worked in the construction industry and have plenty of experience. Your work might involve supervising others or managing resources. It is also suitable if you wish to develop your skills further and move into a senior role or a position with more responsibility.

To achieve the Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Trowel Occupations, you must complete all the mandatory units and a minimum of one optional unit:

This qualification prepares you for work in the construction industry, with a specific focus on trowel occupations. Upon completion you can apply to CSCS, or other industry card schemes, to gain a skills card that will enable you to work on-site in your chosen trade.
There are no entry requirements for this course. Anyone over the age of 16 that is seeking to demonstrate competence in working with brick can take this qualification. However, it is preferred if you have studied the Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Trowel Occupations (Construction) or have significant experience working within the construction industry.
You will be assessed by a portfolio of evidence for each unit.
