About the course

This CACHE Level 3 Award in Supporting Individuals with Learning Difficulties will help to equip you with the knowledge required to work with children and adults with a wide range of learning difficulties.

Who is this programme for?

The course is designed for those that are currently working, or wish to work, in a job role that requires them to interact with individuals that have mild to severe learning difficulties. This could include:

  • Senior Level Workers
  • Carers
  • Teachers
  • Managers supporting individuals with learning disabilities

What will I study?

You will be introduced to key features through this course, including the legislation and policies of supporting individuals with learning disabilities, learning that individuals with disabilities are entitled to the same rights and understanding the transition to move from childhood to adulthood. You will also learn about the positive behavioural support system, and how to implement it in environments that support individuals with learning disabilities.

What is the entry process?

There are no formal entry requirements for this course, however, a basic level of literacy, numeracy, and ICT ability is desired. 

How will I be assessed?

In order to complete the CACHE Level 3 Award in Supporting Individuals with Learning Disabilities successfully and gain your professional qualification, all learners will be internally assessed using a range of assessment methods. This could include a portfolio of evidence, written assignments, or a task.
