New: Environmental Courses

BSc (Hons) Environmental Studies and Sustainability*

This two year degree delivers the same content as a three year degree but with 45 contact weeks per year rather than the standard 30 weeks. During this intensive course you will begin to think like an environmentalist, you will study a broad range of environmental issues such as the impacts of climate change, pollution and air quality.

You will study the challenges of dealing with our waste and meeting the competing demands and sustainability of our natural resources. This very current degree examines the environmental issues that impact us all, topics such as conservation; sustainable development; resources, energy and waste management and pollution control. You will combine theory, practice and a work placement in order to find workable solutions to current and future environmental problems.

In the final semester you will produce a dissertation or major project on an aspect of the environment that you are passionate about and this will allow you to focus your studies and create an opportunity to prepare for applying for employment in this growing and important subject area.

This course will be validated in 2021-22 and will be applying for accreditation by the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM)
