Helping your child to choose the right college and course for their future goals is important. Here you will find information on what you need to know before you begin and tips on how to make the most out of your search.
Choosing a Course
When deciding which subject(s) to study at college, your child may wish to consider the subjects they enjoy at school and what career they would like to have in the future. School leavers have the option to study three types of qualifications – A Levels, apprenticeships and vocational/BTEC:
School leavers also have the option to ‘Mix and Match’ up to two A Levels with a vocational/BTEC course.
A Levels, Level 3 Apprenticeships and Level 3 BTEC courses can all lead to university-level study. Students studying with us have the option of staying with us for their degree at our University Centre Farnborough. This means your child can start as a college student and finish as a university graduate.
