Bright Spark from Aldershot College Wins Competition Heats

Matt Taylor, an Electrical Installation Apprentice at Aldershot College, has won the regional heat of the SPARKS UK Electrical Apprentice of the Year Competition.

Matt has now been entered for the grand final of the competition which will be held on 11th and 12th April at the 3M Customer Innovation Centre in Bracknell. He was selected to represent Aldershot College after an internal competition where he demonstrated his expertise in electrical installation.

Competition judge, Darren Oates, an External Quality Assurer at EAL said “The skill set we have seen so far already this year has been phenomenal and we’re looking forward to seeing what the next regions bring to the table.”

Matt was supported and encouraged by his tutor, Derek Rocket, and Programme Manager, Richard Taylor at Aldershot College.

Good luck to Matt for the grand final in April!
