The HEAT Culinary Colleges Competition is a chance for training chefs to demonstrate their determination and culinary skills. After months of planning, training and preparation, students traveled to Jersey this March to give the competition final their all.
The competition required teams to create a four-course meal which was tasted by competition judges; three top UK chefs. Points were awarded for both kitchen and front-of-house skills. This year students competed under the guidance of Connor Godfrey – Executive Chef at The Westbury in Mayfair, London.

As well as taking part in the competition, students had the opportunity to explore the island – learning new skills from local butchers, baristas, restaurants, and a fish monger. Here is a snapshot of their experience:
