College in Top Ten in the country for Qualification Achievement

Students and staff at the college are celebrating – the government has crunched the numbers and has announced that the college is once again in the Top Ten of the national league tables for student success.

Figures released by the government’s Skills Funding Agency measuring overall student achievement, show we’re ranked number eight of all 191 colleges in England.

For 16–18 year olds’ overall achievement, the news is even better – we came fourth out of all colleges in the country!

The position for the quality of our Apprenticeships is also good news, we came 11th out of all the college providers in the country.

This continues consecutive ranking as one of the top ten Further Education colleges for overall achievement in the country for the past three years.

Principal Ioan Morgan, CBE said: “We are absolutely delighted that we continue to maintain our excellent success rates. I’m proud to say our success is down to our inspirational and professional staff delivering the highest standards of education alongside the dedication and hard work of our students.

“It’s great news for the community too. As well as providing an excellent learning facility for local people, our success and high standards are also reflected in helping to meet the needs of employers, addressing skills shortages and assisting young people to successfully enter the workplace and contribute to local economic prosperity.

“This is an exciting time for the college with the opening of our new Enterprise Centre in September. The new building will add to the excellent facilities designed to enhance and support the student experience.

“We also look forward to welcoming local businesses and community organisations who can come and have a look at what we have to offer.

“We boast a friendly campus environment, a high quality student support service with strong individual tutor support. Our dedicated teaching staff are knowledgeable and experienced professionals who ensure every student is supported to achieve the very best results of which they are capable.”
