Distance Learning for Trainee Teachers

We now a new pathway into teaching

Our new PGCE Distance Learners Programme is designed to offer a Blended Learning option for more experienced teachers, who already have teaching experience and wish to gain their full teaching qualification within the Further Education (Colleges or Sixth Forms) or private sector (Prison Service, Ambulance Service, Police, Army and more). It is also for those teachers who already have a Degree and are capable of studying independently.

During the course, candidates will:

• Attend eight taught sessions per academic year on a Wednesday evening
• Be introduced to key topics and assessment criteria
• Undertake in independent study and individual tutorials
• Engage in additional wider reading and research
