Fashion Students Own the Catwalk

Recently, our Fashion and Textiles students put on their annual Festival Fashion Show!

The ‘Farnborough Fashion Festival’ was a catwalk styled in a summer festival vibe.

The garments were judged by designers and industry representatives. The Best Collection Award was selected by Geoff Cox, Creative Director of the Top Model Organisation, while designer to Royalty Omar Mansoor, and Louise Rose Couture each chose garments they felt deserved a special commendation.

The award winners are listed below:

Best 1st Year Garment: Olivia West
Best 2nd Year Garment: Hannah Mills
Top Model 2017 Best Student Collection: (Joint winners) Stephanie Linkens and Hannah Mills
Overall Student of the Year: Elise George

Overall Student of the Year, Elise, said “I have really enjoyed my time at Farnborough College of Technology. I’ve learnt so much, and been able take part in some amazing work experience opportunities at Top Model and London Fashion Week!”

During the fashion show interval, students organised a charity raffle. They managed to raise over £250 for Challengers, a Farnham based charity which provides leisure activities for disabled youngsters.

Fashion and Textiles Lecturer, Sam Jones, said “I am exceptionally proud of the students and their achievements this year. They have worked really well as a team supporting each other throughout their studies whilst also being highly driven and motivated.

“All of the graduating Fashion and Textiles students have firm offers at the universities of their choice, and will be going on to study courses ranging from Fashion Design to Fashion Promotion and Imaging.”

We can’t wait for next year’s Fashion Show now, which we hope will be just as successful as this year’s!
