Fun for Future Pupils at Year 9 Interactive Fair

The College welcomed over 300 Year 9 pupils from Bohunt Farnborough (previously Fernhill) and Cove School to its recent Interactive Fair. The event provided a hands-on opportunity for pupils to explore their post-16 options and get a taste of college life.

Throughout the fair, pupils participated in a variety of interactive activities led by passionate teaching staff from a range of departments. From practising hairstyles with hair and beauty to learning how to use a hand drill with construction, the activities showcased the diverse and exciting subjects offered at the College.

In addition to the activities, pupils had the opportunity to interact with lecturers, discovering and discussing dream jobs, potential career paths and the qualifications required to achieve them. These conversations provided a valuable opportunity for pupils to ask questions and make informed decisions about their future studies.

Principal CEO, Virginia Barrett, commented: “We are delighted with the success of the Year 9 Interactive Fair. It’s fantastic to see so many enthusiastic young people exploring the vast range of possibilities available through further education. We hope this experience provides meaningful insights into career options and inspires them to take up opportunities in our vibrant and inclusive college community.”

Keri McSweeney Schools and Learner Engagement Manager, spoke on the event, saying: “Events like the Year 9 Interactive Fair are so important to the College and staff – it’s our first opportunity to encourage pupils to pursue further education and discover more about the subjects they might be interested in for T Levels, BTECs and A Levels. It also demonstrates our dedication to building strong relationships with local schools and supporting pupils as they progress with their education.”
