Mature Students Celebrate and Leave for University

Students on our Access to Higher Education courses have celebrated the completion of their qualification among family and friends

The Access Achievement Day was held on Friday 7 July to bring all of this year’s aspirational students and teachers together one final time.

Our range of Access to Higher Education courses is designed to give students who missed out on a formal qualification the skills and confidence needed to start a university-level course. This year’s students will no doubt enjoy the Summer break with great satisfaction and relief, before life as an undergraduate starts in September!

The universities our students are now looking forward to joining are:

  • Bournemouth University
  • Cambridge
  • De Montfort University – Leicester
  • Kings College London
  • London South Bank University
  • Oxford Brookes
  • Royal Holloway, University of London
  • The Open University
  • The University of Law – Guildford
  • University Centre Farnborough
  • University of Buckingham
  • University of Exeter
  • University of Hertfordshire
  • University of Roehampton
  • University of Surrey
  • University of West London
  • University of Winchester
  • University of Worcester

Marking the successes they’ve seen during the year, students were first congratulated by Programme Manager Brian Rubin, Principal Virginia Barrett and Head of Faculty Wendy Funnell; before being presented with certificates of achievement, and enjoying food and refreshments in the Faculty of Academic Studies.

Students interested in following in their footsteps can visit any one of our Open Events to speak to staff about their options, including information on the government loans that can be written off.
