Media Students on C4’s ‘Am I Normal?’

Former Media student Harry Binstead has created a short film for the site to raise awareness around eating disorders, with fellow filmmaker Shannon Smyth.

Their film Daily Cycle appears on Channel 4’s Am I Normal? website.

“Am I Normal? is a site from Channel 4 aimed at 14-19 year olds. Much of the content centres around issues that affect young people such as family and friendships, sex and relationships, online behaviour, drink and drugs and mental health.” – Am I Normal? website

Harry and Shannon’s film is accompanied by an interview with the two filmmakers, where Harry says:

“I started filmmaking when I left school; I used to play around with cameras before that, but it was when I went to college that I decided to consider it as a career. I was really lucky at Farnborough Tech College, to have access to everything I needed to be able to practice and learn, before I took on Daily Cycle.

“We really wanted to show that this is an issue that affects many people in all walks of life – it’s not something that’s specific to a certain group of people. Someone dealing with this issue could be right next to you in a queue and you wouldn’t even know it.”

The full interview with Harry and Shannon and their short film can be seen at the Am I Normal? website
