Student Fashionistas Support LFW

Our fashion students strutted their stuff at this month’s London Fashion Week.

Our student fashionistas have become an integral part of the rich tapestry of Fashion Week as this is the fifth event they have been asked to support in three consecutive years.

Second Year Fashion students were pressed upon to prepare garments, dress models and liaise with designers on the catwalk running order.

They were proud to support three shows held between 16-20 September which included designers Omar Mansoor, Lenie Boya and Sasmitha Dellawa at the Charing Cross venue.

Fashion Lecture, Sam Jones said: It’s always an intense experience being at such a prestigious and high profile event but the students did us proud. All the designers were so impressed with their creativity and professionalism.

It’s also such a terrific opportunity for our students to mingle with the top names in the Fashion industry. You can’t get a much more real working environment than behind the scenes at London Fashion Week!

Sam said the college’s association with London Fashion Week and also the prestigious Top Model franchise, has been the result of a longstanding relationship with Fashion International and Top Model Operations Manager Geoff Cox.

Geoff has been so supportive to the college and because our students have been so capable and professional, he has come back to us time and time again to invite us to take part.

This relationship has really paid off because Geoff recently saw the students’ designs for the end of year Fashion Show and has asked if some of the garments can be put on the catwalk at the next Top Model event!

We are so thrilled that he recognises our students talent and that they will get some incredible exposure from this opportunity.

Fashion is such an exciting and dynamic industry and careers in fashion range from designers to pattern cutters, stylists and buyers. If you are interested in a career in Fashion, please visit our website for details about our courses.
