Both Duncan and Alfredo applied to be Student Governors – having carried out the role last year – and found out their applications were successful shortly before the Christmas break. During 2015 they will continue to represent their peers amongst the Colleges Board of Governors by collecting the views of students across the College, feeding back the student experience at meetings and acting as a point of contact for students and staff.
Alfredo is studying for a BTEC Level 3 in Graphic Design and represents Further Education students working on a BTEC or A Level course. Duncan is a degree student working towards a BSc (Hons) in Computing who will represent students studying on a Higher Education course. These include HNDs & HNCs, Foundation Degrees and Undergraduate Degrees. After the announcement, Duncan said:
I am pleased to fulfil this role again as I can ensure that the Higher Education students have a voice, bringing their proposals, worries and achievements to attention
