Top success rate

A

Students and staff here at Farnborough College of Technology (FCoT) are celebrating – the government has crunched the numbers and announced we are top of the national league tables for student success.

Figures recently released by the government’s Skills Funding Agency, measuring overall student success, show FCoT is number one for young people.

FCoT provides both Further and Higher Education courses and draws students from across Hampshire, Surrey and Berkshire. We are already rated as Outstanding by Ofsted and have been graded as having the highest levels of Confidence by the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education.

In a fantastic all-round performance, the government figures also confirm we are in the top ten for the country for apprentice success across all levels for an FE college.

The college has also been ranked as one of the top ten FE colleges in the country for the past four years.

Principal Christine Slaymaker CBE said: “We are absolutely delighted to have come top of the success rate table. I’m proud to say our success is down to our inspirational and professional staff delivering the highest standards of education alongside the dedication and hard work of our students.

It’s great news for the community too. As well as providing an excellent learning facility for local people, our success and high standards are also reflected in helping to meeting the needs of employers, addressing skills shortages and assisting young people to successfully enter the workplace and contribute to local economic prosperity.

This is an exciting time for the college with the imminent development of our new University Centre building, due for completion by September 2016, which will continue to provide courses in first class accommodation.”
