Year 9s Experience College at Interactive Fair

We welcomed over 700 secondary school students to the College for our Interactive Fair this April, giving them a taste of college life and a chance to shape plans for the future.

Taking place in our University Centre, students from Cove, Fernhill, Kings International, Sandhurst and Wavell secondary schools explored their post-16 options by taking part in hands-on activities relating to courses they can study with us.

The fair gave students an opportunity to explore subjects and activities they hadn’t experienced before, including flying drones, green screen filming techniques, bricklaying, and playing virtual reality games!

Students also undertook a number of challenges, including a rowing machine race, ‘guess the herbs and spices’ touch and smell test, and changing tyres on a car.

In addition to interactive activities, the event gave students a chance to learn more about T Levels which will be a new post-16 option for them. We’ve been selected as one of the first colleges to pioneer the new courses, which are set to reshape the further education sector.

Applications are open to study with us this September. You can explore our full range of courses for School Leavers here.

Visitors of any age can experience the College at our annual Family Fun Day on Saturday 22 June 2018, 10.30am – 2.30pm. Find out more here!
