Help with your council tax and benefits

Help from your gas and electricity supplier

Some energy companies have support funds and hardship grants available for customers who are struggling. They can also offer you advice. For details, contact your supplier directly, or go to www.rushmoor.gov.uk/costofliving for a list of companies offering support schemes.

Hitting the cold spots advice line

Hampshire County Council’s advice line is open to all Hampshire residents struggling to keep their homes warm. You can call Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Tel: 0800 804 8601 (Call 023 8033 6172 for landline rates. May not be free from mobiles)

Keeping your home warm

Having a well-insulated home will help keep it warm and cut down on your bills. The Warmer Homes scheme offers money towards home energy efficiency improvements. Find out if you’re eligible and how to apply at www.warmerhomes.org.uk or call 0800 038 5737 for details.

Help your veterans

The Royal British Legion offers means-tested grants of up to £200 a month for a year for veterans and their families. The cost-of-living grants can help towards everyday essentials like kitchen appliances, clothes, and energy costs. Visit www.britishlegion.org.uk and look for ‘Get support’ or call 0808 802 8080
