Step by Step – can you help?

Step by Step are a charity that help and support young people aged 16-21 who are vulnerable and are at risk of homelessness.

Part of their mission, is to recruit hosts who have a spare room which they would rent out to a young person and help provide support with daily living skills to help them progress to independent living.

LET YOUR SPARE ROOM TO A YOUNG PERSON FACING HOMELESSNESS

Young people find themselves homeless for many reasons, from escaping abuse to leaving care. Step by Step hosts offer a safe and supported place to live, from which a young person can work towards independent living. Hosts are fully trained, supported and receive around £140 a week in financial compensation.

Could you provide:

  • A comfortable single room? Or a double room for a parent and baby?
  • Emotional and practical support?
  • Access to a shared kitchen, bathroom and living area?

Step by Step are currently at crisis point and have more young people than they have hosts available, and need to recruit new hosts who are keen to support young people.
