Updated Face Mask Guidance

Dear Students, Parents and Guardians,

You may have heard that the government has updated its guidance to education settings on the wearing of face masks due to the identification of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 in the UK.

This means that from this week we will be asking all students, staff, and visitors to wear face masks in communal areas (corridors, canteen, library, and any spaces where people from different courses mix).

Students are being given a Farnborough College of Technology/University Centre Farnborough-branded face mask this week via their tutor, free of charge. These masks are comfortable, fit all face shapes, and have space for an extra filter.

We ask all students and staff to wear only these branded masks on campus to help us with safeguarding – students must not give their mask to anyone else and should keep them safe.

To help everyone feel safe, we will be communicating the importance of wearing masks around the College in the same way that we do with lanyards.

Students who use public transport should be aware that they are also required to now wear face masks while travelling.

We also recommend that all students who have been invited to take part in the Covid-19 Saliva Testing Programme to take up this opportunity, as this offers an extra layer of protection for our college community.

Thank you for your support in helping us to keep our college community safe, while also working to avoid any unnecessary disruption to learning.

Kind Regards,

Learner Services
Farnborough College of Technology & University Centre Farnborough
