Enable wi-fi and select eduroam
- Open Settings
- In Wireless & Networks, enable WiFi
- Open Wi-fi, select eduroam
Configuring connection to eduroam
- In EAP method, select PEAP
- In Phase 2 Authentication, select MSCHAPV2
- In Identity, enter username@farn-ct.ac.uk (e.g. 12345@farn-ct.ac.uk)
- In Password, enter your normal University passwor
- Click Connect
Enable wi-fi and select eduroam
- Open Settings
- Enable WiFi
- Select eduroam
- Enter username@farn-ct.ac.uk (e.g. 12345@farn-ct.ac.uk)
- Enter your normal college password
- Accept certificate when prompted
Proxy setting: in Http Proxy, select off
Enable AirPort and select eduroam
- Open System Preferences
- Select Internet & Wireless
- Enable AirPort
- Select Open Network Preferences
- Select eduroam
- Enter username@farn-ct.ac.uk (e.g. 12345@farn-ct.ac.uk)
- Enter your normal collegepassword
- Enable remember this network
Configuring connection to eduroam
- In Network Preferences, select Advanced
- Select TCP/IP tab
- In Configure IPv4, select Using DHCP
- Select 802.1X tab
- Ensure the window on left is clear of settings
- Select Proxies tab
- Enable Auto Proxy Discovery
- Select AirPort tab
- Security type of eduroam must display as WPA2 Enterprise, if not, remove by clicking on the minus button and setup again

Configure Firefox browser settings
If you are using Firefox as your browser you will need to ensure the following settings are used:
Preferences > Network > Settings > Auto-detect Proxy
Enable wi-fi and select eduroam
- Open Settings
- Make sure that WiFi networking is turned on
- Select eduroam
- Enter username@farn-ct.ac.uk (e.g. 12345@farn-ct.ac.uk)
- Enter your normal password
- Click Connect

Manually connect to eduroam
- Click on Start button and open Control Panel
- In Network and Internet open Network and Sharing Center, select Set up a new connection or network
- Select Manually Connect to a Wireless Network and click Next
- In Network name, enter eduroam
- In Security type select WPA2-Enterprise
- In Encryption type select AES
- Click Next and select Change Connection Settings
- Open Security tab
- In Choose a network authentication method, select Protected EAP (PEAP)
- Click Settings and check Validate Server Certificate
- Click Configure and uncheck Automatically use my Windows log-on name and password (and domain if any) and click OK
- Click OK
- Click on the yellow additional information balloon
- Enter username@farn-ct.ac.uk (e.g. 12345@farn-ct.ac.uk)
- Enter your normal University password
- Click OK and a connection will establish
Check your browser settings
- Click Start and type Run in search box
- Open Run and type inetcpl.cpl , select Connections tab
- Click LAN settings and ensure that Automatically detect settings is checked and click OK to close window
Manually connect to eduroam
- Click on Start button and open Control Panel
- In Network and Internet open Network and Sharing Center, select Set up a new connection or network
- Select Manually Connect to a Wireless Network and click Next
- In Network name, enter eduroam
- In Security type select WPA2-Enterprise
- In Encryption type select AES
- Click Next and select Change Connection Settings
- Open Security tab
- Click Settings and check Verify the server's identity by validating the certificate
- Click Configure and uncheck Automatically use my Windows log-on name and password (and domain if any) and click OK
- Click OK to return to the eduroam Wireless Network Properties screen and select Advance Settings
- Select Specify authentication mode and select User authentication and click Save credentials
- Enter username@farn-ct.ac.uk (e.g. 12345@farn-ct.ac.uk)
- Enter your normal University password
- Click OK, and OK, and Close to exit
- Click on wireless icon and click Connect to establish your wireless connection
- Check your browser settings
