Studied Psychology and Criminology
During my degree I was enlightened as to the different aspects within the psychology discipline. After a fascinating module on offender profiling, I chose to apply for a Master’s in Investigative Psychology at the University of Huddersfield.
The intensive nature of the degree and accompanying skills I learned has helped with the sheer volume of work that is required in a Master’s course. Similarly, the combination of studying psychology and criminology together put me at a great advantage as I was able to apply both sets of knowledge to my course and studies.
Becoming a teacher has been my dream since the age of five and to this end I have undertaken and just completed my Foundation degree at Farnborough. I am now studying in the evenings towards the BA (Hons) Education (Top Up) and am delighted to have just been accepted on a Schools Direct in Secondary Mathematics teacher training course.
All of this was only achievable due to Farnborough’s flexible course structures, as they fit in with my busy lifestyle and thus allowed me to change my career and pursue my dream. The tutors are friendly and always supportive. You know that they are always available to help, even at the end of an email with sage advice to help make sense of things if you’re concerned or confused.
Studied Media Production
I recently made the move to freelance video editor, having been a videographer and editor for a company previously. My course gave me an insight to what I wanted to pursue a career in, and a broad understanding of the media environment. This allowed me to focus on what I found most interesting. The tutors were probably the best part of my time at Farnborough. They are passionate and knowledgeable about what they do.
