Each year, the National Theatre commissions ten new plays for young people to perform, bringing together some of the UK’s most exciting writers with the theatre-makers of tomorrow. This year Farnborough College of Technology – partnered with Chichester Festival Theatre produced the play ‘Tuesday’ by Alison Carr. A play with a sci-fi theme that looks at a school torn apart when a split in the sky creates havoc with the arrival of a parallel universe.
Nathan Crossan-Smith, Connections Mentor Director, had this to say of their performance:
‘[I] loved the sense of deadpan comic timing across the whole company, contrasted with heartfelt performances- Billy’s passion, Frankie’s great monologue. Alex’s rallying cry for empathic leadership and the brilliantly detailed work on twinness from Ash/Magpie. I thought the whole company were brilliant and particularly enjoyed the threatening groupthink dynamic brought by the bullies.’
