This is delivery in the workplace, online and face to face. 

What modules are covered?

The level 3 in diploma in care includes 13 mandatory units in group A. The units in group B are optional; learners may take any combination of optional units to achieve the requirements of the qualification.

• Safeguarding and protection in adult care
• Mental Capacity and Restrictive Practice for Adult Care
• Duty of care in adult care
• Effective Communication in Adult Care
• Handling information in adult care
• Person-centred approaches for adult care
• Choice and independence, health, and wellbeing for adult care
• Equality, diversity, inclusion, and human right in adult care
• Health and safety (general and Topics) for adult care
• Infection prevention and control in adult care
• Continuous development when working in adult care
• Personal wellbeing when working in adult care.

Further optional units will need to be completed to achieve this qualification.

How will I be assessed?

You will build a portfolio of evidence, which will include observations in the workplace.

What Next?

Learners who achieve Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care (England) can choose to progress to the Level 4 Lead practitioner in adult care. Achievement of the Level 3 qualification, together with additional training, can also support progression to job roles that require a more complex set of skills and responsibility.

What previous qualifications and experience will I need?

This training programme is intended for new or existing staff working in or providing support within a care environment. The entry criteria are staff aged 18 and over with GCSE's grades 4 - 9 or C - A* in Maths and English.  GCSE's will be considered along with the results of an initial assessment.
