A Levels

Here at Farnborough College of Technology, we offer A Levels a little differently!

We divide our A Levels into “Pathways” which feature two mandatory subjects and a chosen complementary subject.

This is to ensure that our learners are learning and studying skills that will directly benefit them in their future studies and careers. While choosing three Random subjects offers flexibility, it’s often noted that one subject rarely gets used in future and we want to ensure our students don’t end up studying hard and sitting exams for something that won’t benefit them in the long-term!

Additionally, our A Levels Pathways include a mandatory 60-hour work experience in the first year, usually the last week of January to the first week of February. It is the student’s responsibility to find the placement with tutor support and it must be meaningful to their studies. This is to ensure that our students leave college with both their qualifications and invaluable work experience.

All of our Pathways are detailed below and require 5 GCSEs at grades 4 to 9, including English and Maths.
