Prepare for a career in the police service with the NCFE Level 3 Introductory Certificate In Policing. This course covers the specialist knowledge, skills and understanding relating to working in the Police. The content of this course has been developed with employers, subject experts, and tutors to ensure that it is relevant to the real world and meets the need of employers. 

Who is this programme for?

This qualification is suitable for learners aged 16 who want to gain an in-depth understanding of the principles of Policing and to explore the various avenues of work within it. It will also allow you to gain transferable skills that can be applied to the workplace or further study.

How will I be taught?

Group work, workshops, other class sessions practical and outdoor sessions.

What modules are covered?

During this qualification, you will study a variety of topics including:

  • Develop aspects of physical fitness for entry to the police service 
  • Understand conflict management and personal protection 
  • UK legal systems and the police service 
  • Crime scene investigation 
  • Safeguarding and the Prevent Duty 
  • The development of the UK police service 

How will I be assessed?

To be awarded the Level 3 Introductory Certificate in Policing, learners are required to successfully complete 1 mandatory unit and 2 optional units. 

Assignments throughout the course include reports, presentations, practical work, oral work, projects, and a range of outdoor activities. This qualification is internally assessed with a Portfolio of Evidence.
