About this course

This course is ideal for School Leavers who want to pursue a career in aeronautical engineering. It is equivalent to three A Levels and provides a route into university or higher education.

The Level 3 Extended Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering has a work related focus and prepares students for employment in the aeronautical engineering sector or to progress to higher education and a vocational degree programme. It is broadly equivalent to 3 “A” Levels.

The course consists of units which have a credit value which should provide a combined total of 180 credits to achieve the BTEC level 3 Extended Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering (formerly National Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering).

Students will take mandatory units and pre-selected optional units which reflect the modern aeronautical industry.
