About the course
This course is ideal for School Leavers who want to pursue a career in the media industry.
This course is designed to provide opportunities to prepare for further learning or training in essential skills required to work in media industries. It provides you with the opportunity to experience first-hand what it is like to conduct interviews, script, direct and produce a range of audio and visual products as well as studying theoretical elements.
Who is this programme for?
This course is perfect if you have just left school and have a strong interest in creative media. The course is designed to inspire and enthuse learners in a range of media including, video, audio and advertising. It will give you the opportunity to gain a broad knowledge and understanding of, and develop skills in creative media.

- All young people will continue to improve their skills in English and Mathematics while studying at the college. If you have lower than a C grade GCSE in Mathematics or English Language, you will be supported to work towards this level.

What Next?
Upon completing this course with an overall Merit grade, which includes some units where a Distinction has been awarded, you can continue onto the Level 3 course. Progression onto Level 3 would also depend on good attendance and overall performance throughout the Level 2 course.

What previous qualifications and experience will I need?
From School
- Four GCSEs at grades 9-3
- To include English GCSE at grades 9-3
From College
- Relevant level 1 qualification
- English and maths at level 1 or higher
