About

About this course

This course is ideal for School Leavers who want to pursue a career in the health and social care sector. It is equivalent to three A Levels and provides a route into university or higher education.

This course offers access to a range of placements, including the opportunity to apply for the cadet scheme at an NHS hospital and placements with the ambulance service. The units chosen enable students to achieve the maximum number of placement hours available/possible on the standard Extended Diploma, giving students a significant advantage when making career choices.

This qualification was designed in close collaboration with industry, and is fully supported by the Sector Skills Council, Skills for Health. This is therefore a highly respected route to help people become occupationally ready to take up employment in the Health and Social Care sector, (either directly after achieving the qualification or via the stepping stone of Higher Education).

Costs

Additional costs will be incurred for a DBS check, polo shirt, visits and textbook. Further details will be advised at interview.
