Private Exam Candidates: International GCSE (IGCSE) Exams

Booking an Exam as a Private Candidate

To book your place as a private candidate, please follow the link below to our Online Store. You can then select the subject(s) you wish to sit exams for. You will then be invited to an enrolment event where we will give you information about sitting an exam, check your identity, and arrange any additional payments due to Access Arrangements.

After booking, we will then contact you with information about enrolling with the College as a private candidate. Following your enrolment, you will receive a letter with the date and time of your exam(s), where to go on arrival and any other information needed when sitting an exam.

Costs

Each subject: £175 for all papers (£290 for double-award subjects)
Access Arrangements Assessment: £50

Access Arrangements and Exam Concessions for Candidates with Special Needs

If you wish to apply for exam concessions, there is a charge of £50 to cover the costs of an assessment to be held here at the College. An assessment should be completed within two weeks of the enrolment session to guarantee that the examination body can accommodate your needs. The examination body cannot guarantee special access arrangements after this time. Following the outcome of the assessment, there may be additional costs depending on the needs of the candidate.

Please pay for the ‘Access Arrangement Assessment’ item from the Online Store and bear in mind that assessments are subject to the availability of college staff to carry this work out before the deadline.

It is my responsibility to:

  • Investigate the examining body’s website and materials to make sure I understand the type of exam I am entering, and what options there may be within the exam papers
  • Make sure I have chosen the correct exam for my needs
  • Ensure all information given to the College is accurate and proof of ID is available

I understand that:

  • I will not receive any form of tuition from the College in relation to sitting an exam
  • Farnborough College of Technology will not provide any advice on which papers, or exam questions, should be chosen
  • By booking and sitting an exam I will not become a student of Farnborough College of Technology
  • I will adhere to all of Farnborough College of Technology’s visitor policy, including wearing an ID badge provided by the College
  • Refunds are not available (this does not affect your statutory rights)
