Farnborough is located in the county of Hampshire, in the South of England and made famous by its International Airshow. The town is a popular place to live thanks to:

  • Its quiet and welcoming atmosphere
  • Its excellent access to London via train, which takes as little as 35 minutes
  • Its close proximity to the British countryside, with the Basingstoke Canal running through the town
  • A large number of employers in the area, ranging from aviation to hospitality Its multicultural population
  • The nearby historical towns of Farnham and Guildford providing a slice of British history

Entry requirements 

All international students will need to supply the college with evidence of qualifications so that we can ensure that course entry requirements are met.  For those applicants from countries that require proof of English proficiency, the college requires IELTS scores of 6.5 or above.  

Please see the following government list of exemptions, that do not require IELTS: 

  • Those who have successfully obtained an academic qualification (not a professional or vocational qualification) from an educational establishment in the UK, which is a Bachelor’s degree or above. 
  • Those who have previously completed an academic qualification equivalent to a UK degree which was taught in what we call a ‘majority English-speaking’ country (see the table below):

Deadlines 

International applicants have until the end of June in the year of entry, to apply for their chosen course (with the exception of the BA (Hons) Business Management (Top-Up) course which starts in January). International applications will then close between July and mid October, before reopening for the following year of entry.  

In order to produce a CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance to Study) letter, we require evidence of your qualifications, documents and receipt of 50% of the total course fees. 

Our commitment to you is that we will produce your CAS letter within 2 weeks of confirming your acceptance on a course (please note that this will only be within 3 months of the course start date as per government guidelines). If you do not apply for your visa by the end of July or if your application is refused, we will refund you all monies paid minus the £26 CAS letter production fee. 

Your commitment to us is that you will ensure that you are eligible for a student visa by checking the government website before applying for a course and use your CAS letter to apply for a student visa by the end of July in the year of entry.

  • Foundation Degree £POA
  • Accelerated/Fast Track Degree £POA

Please note that international students are not able to apply for any financial assistance from University Centre Farnborough or Farnborough College of Technology.
