About the course
Are you thinking about joining the hair and beauty industry? Kick-start your career with our Introduction to Hair and Beauty. Completion of this course will allow you to progress onto a relevant Level 2 qualification in your hair or beauty specialism.

The hair and beauty industry is on the rise and popular in our region. According to the EMSI there are 15,000 beauticians employed in the south east, which is more than any other region in the country. This makes the hair and beauty sector a great industry to join. This programme will introduce you to Hairdressing and beauty therapy techniques, reception skills, health and safety, and client care. As well as focusing on your maths and English skills.

Other information
All young people will continue to improve their skills in English and Mathematics while studying at the college. If you have lower than a 4 grade GCSE in Mathematics or English Language, you will be supported to work towards this level.
Work experience is a compulsory part of this course for 2 weeks during the summer term.

What Next?
Successful completion of the course can lead to the Level 2 in Beauty Therapy or level 2 Hairdressing or an apprenticeship in hairdressing at level 2.

What previous qualifications and experience will I need?
GCSEs at grade 9-2 including English and maths or equivalent qualifications.
