Congratulations to BTEC Applied Science student Jack Spreadborough, who has received a silver award in the Pearson BTEC Awards 2019!

The BTEC Awards run by Pearson Qualifications celebrate the hard work and achievements of students studying BTEC courses across a number of institutions. Jack, who is studying BTEC Applied Science with us, was crowned runner-up in the BTEC Science Student of the Year category.

Speaking about his fantastic achievement, Jack told us: “Being given this award means a lot to me as it provides me with the confidence to grow further in my field, and cements all of my hard work during the last two years. My tutor nominated me because of my high grades and attitude to learning, which demonstrated clear passion for the subject. Being able to include this award on my future CVs and job applications will stand me in good stead.”

“I chose to study a BTEC subject as I have a very practical mind and enjoy applying theories to the real world, gaining hands-on experience. My teachers at college have all encouraged me to build on the foundations of my scientific knowledge and the format of completing assignments has been met well with my prioritisation and time management skills. My knowledge and practical skills within science have developed throughout college, and within the BTEC Science course I have studied a range of modules which has broadened my knowledge. I’m now getting ready to go to university in Bournemouth to study Forensic Science.”

If you’re interested in studying BTEC Applied Science with us, applications are still open for this September. Click here to find out more about the course and apply online.
