Travel and Tourism Students Jet Set for the Future!

Earlier this week our Travel and Tourism students visited TAG Farnborough Airport to experience what it’s like working in the aviation industry.

TAG Farnborough Airport has won awards around the world, meaning our students got a fantastic view of a successful, modern airport. Students were given a presentation from Brandon O’Reilly, the airport’s CEO, and a tour of the terminal building and hangars.

TAG Global Training was established in 2007 to train pilots and cabin crew. Students were given a Fire and Smoke drill cabin crew training demonstration by the staff at TAG Global Training, giving them an insight into the health & safety training that cabin crew recruits have to undergo before qualifying as crew members.

Travel and Tourism Programme Manager, Yvonne Gitendorfa, said: “The visit was of upmost benefit to our students, giving them an insight into such a state-of-the-art travel and tourism organisation that’s right on our doorstep. The students also found out about different employment opportunities within aviation and the skills and aptitudes needed to kick start their career within an industry that keeps growing at an exponential rate. We can’t thank the TAG team enough for giving our students the opportunity to visit them again.”

Applications are still open to study Travel and Tourism with us this September. You can explore our full list of courses here.
