This course is for Adult Learners aged 19 or over who do not have an A* - C or 9 - 4 in GCSE Mathematics. The programme is examined at two tiers, foundation and higher, and, in some cases, students may be permitted to enter for a higher tier award if it is deemed to be a suitable route. The AQA examination board has been specifically designed to suit students who are 19+. Whilst the course can be challenging and will require perseverance and dedication, we aim to make the study of mathematics at Farnborough College of Technology as relevant and applicable to the real world as possible. Farnborough College of Technology offers the above qualification for teaching assistants/learning support assistants. The programme follows the National Occupational Standards for Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools. You will be expected to attend a three-hour, live teaching and interactive session online on a Monday evening for 32 weeks.
